Dr Bo and 007 .... Your take on the story is interesting and there will be no place for Bo Yibo's grandson after daddy gets rehabilitated. Oh, why can we not, at least, do this to the Windsors?

Beginning to think Neil, or is it Nick, Heywood, is a bit like bin Laden. A wee bit of real investigative journalism on this one might produce a very different version of the Fredrick Forsyth, John Le Carrè thriller that we are being sold.

There seems to be an ongoing wrangle at the top over whether Bo should be further prosecuted or merely put out to pasture. My guess is, whatever support there is for him and his 'model', there's now simply too much dirt out there for the Party to avoid an investigation. In which case, the case of corrupt former Beijing mayor Chen Xitong provides a useful exemplar. The interesting difference here is that Bo has lots of chums in the PLA, an arm of the CCP where Hu and Wen have never had much credibility.
