I think, Mike, that there is no single byline, because (as a few people have mentioned, but you’ve not picked up on) this article was written by many people so there is no one byline. The Beijinger magazine does this also, so I’m not sure why you’re getting so worked up about it.

Perhaps because it was embarrassingly accurate, you feel you need to go on the defensive on the internet, trying to undermine Beijing Cream’s credibility, implying they’re “scared to admit” writing this? Please!

I know at least 3 people who wrote different parts of this article and there are several posts on this site, like this one, which don’t name an author. I think the writers have shown that they are not afraid to be named, I think thoust doth hold thy magazine in too high a regard.

Where have I indicated I didn’t find it funny? I was very amused (otherwise I wouldn’t give it another thought, nor would I share it across social networks).

My only point (which stands) is that putting it sans byline is an interesting choice.I’m very impressed that the creators of the site hold me in such high regard that while they have no problem putting their real names on posts about Chen Guangchen, Bo Xilai & Tiananmen Square, they dare not put their real names on a piss-take on our party.
