I don't think that's true. Yang Wei won gold in Beijing, silver in Sydney in the all-around. He also won two world championships in the all-around. And before him, Li Xiaoshuang won gold in Atlanta.

I agree though that this team is very weak. I think they will be fighting for bronze with Germany and Russia.

The Chinese men's gymnastics team has never really had a very strong all-rounder, though. They're usually individual specialists all the way. And with Teng Haibin pulling out at the last moment, this lineup is one of the weakest teams China has fielded in a few years.

The Chinese men's gymnastics team was a disaster in prelims when compared to their previous Olympic performances, especially 4 years ago in Beijing where they won 7 out of the 8 gold medals up for grabs. They are the defending Olympic champions and they qualified into the final in 6th place with their top all-around gymnast failing to qualify for the all-around by a full 2 points. For the first time since 1980, there will not be a Chinese male gymnast in the all-around final.
