I just heard about this tonight via Youtube. I am filled with every negative emotion humanly possible. I say death penalty for Hu Jun! He murdered that girl. “If she is dead, I may pay only about 20,000 yuan ($3,125). But if she is injured, it may cost me hundreds of thousands yuan,” Basically he is saying “I had to run her over the second time, to make sure I killed her, so I don’t have to pay more money!” I am losing faith in humanity. God save us, everyone.

This was unacceptable at all. People being killed by terrorists can be understood, because those terrorists are trained and brain washed by selfish parties and used as pones in war. But this? This is a situation that the general public to be very familiar and pretty comfortable with a baby being tortured to death on the road. Two years old kid, for the god’s sake!!! We never even an animal (at least a vicious serpent) on a road like that to be hit by more and more vehicles and bleed to death. How can people ignore a child like this? Specially, in a country of Buddhists? Oh! Even if two years have passed, I still am very sorry about this child. How the murderer(s) and people who ignored the child, live with that? Don’t they really have something called consciousness?

Yeah it’s a modern Chinese tragedy for sure. I anticipate there will be lots of condemnation at the 3 1/2 year sentence for the driver too.

This accident was extreme it wasn’t unusual. Road accidents like this perhaps with not all the variables happen all the time in China.

Being focused on this one story is missing the bigger issue which is lack of road safety awareness in China and lack of implementation of the scant laws that exist.

It’s like being outraged by the flames but not the source of the fire.

Meanwhile somewhere in China another obnoxious road user…
