Well I think the found thing is a standard cultural answer you get from Chinese parents. My parents were extra cruel and would joke about all the weird places they supposedly found me (they wouldn’t even make it consistant). I mean, it sounds more plausible than I bird delivered me. Middle school is kinda sad, I have younger siblings so I was well aware as a child women get pregnant. I mean, even in China pregnant women are everywhere.

This stuff honestly needs to be taught in schools everywhere. Especially about contraceptives. I once met a person (not Chinese, but pretty shocking) who wasn’t sure what a condom was.

I think the Morning After Pill (MAP) is often used as a means of birth control. Which, of course, is very dangerous if it is used regularly. The MAP can be bought over the counter in China very easily whereas in Britain you have to go to the doctor to get a prescription for one.

The use of the MAP could substitute the use of condoms which in turn could spread std’s.

There are so many things that China needs to learn in terms of basic social needs, it’s staggering.

If anyone is familiar with the work of Louis Althusser, in particular The Ideological State Apparatus, you might be forgiven for thinking that he was writing about modern day China despite it being written many years ago.
