Guys are just laughing at Weiming’s naivety making him shout Allah Akbar (Allah is greater)the same words that many were shouting when the twin towers went down. Not to forget that Osama bin Laden was a member of mujahideen in Afghanistan back in the day too.

Thanks for sharing this. I can’t say that I necessarily agree with Mr. Chen, but his dedication to his ideals deserves at least a speck of respect.

In regards to the final paragraph, don’t forget about leaders like Yang Shangkun, Hu Qi and Qiao Shi, all of whom were displeased to see the situation end as it did.

Granted they didn’t literally face their victims, but they did speak out.

FUN FACT: Grandpa Wen accompanied ZZ to Ground Zero on May 19. You can see his stone-faced visage in pictures.

Actually, with the exception of that crusty douchenozzle Wang Zhen, none of the senior leadership felt thrilled about executing the long-delayed plans to “clear the Square” after martial law was declared two-and-some-odd weeks prior.

Nonetheless, that’s a topic for another time. Nice post… and good work.
