You only have to look at the language of his translated quotes to gauge the general perception. Basically, if people think you&#039;re an emotionless, Communist robot, you&#039;re only ever going to be translated in that unrelatable, overly formal, stoic tone. Ye Shiwen, who pretty much speaks like a normal teenager, suffered from this. Who translates &quot;成绩非常满意!&quot; as &quot;The score is satisfactory,&quot; after all?

It&#039;s kind of like how any Biblical figure is portrayed as speaking in ye&#039;s and thous. In this case, the closer you get to everyday English, the better it is for Xi.]]></description>
