On which note I will say “jia you!” to the “author”. If you keep at it perhaps one day someone will indeed chuckle at one of these strips.

Without the negativity, we never would’ve gotten the upside-down cardboard box as desk, though. Worth it.

As you’re the only one here offering something that even remotely looks like constructive criticism, I will take a bit of time to answer.

I have to say though, while I usually welcome comments and advice, yours is far from being the most useful I have ever received, as it blatantly omits one (rather obvious) aspect of these comic strips: the fact that it’s my pastime, and I do it just for fun.

Again, i thought it was very obvious, given the (admittedly) DIY, crude production, the complete absence of ads or any other way to get income from them, and the fact that never anyone else is credited. Why the hell would I get someone else to draw?! Would defeat the purpose of having a PASTIME, now wouldn’t it?

And about your suggestion number 2, maybe doing it via a webcomic would be a first indeed, but there are already thousands of WordPress blogs out there aiming just that, thinking “deeply” about the whole expat raison-d’être. And they all fail miserably, because you have to be one hell of a pretentious cock to even think you can somehow summarize the lives of hundreds of thousands of very different people without making huge intellectual shortcuts. I’ll keep making jokes about stinky tofu and how Chinese people look younger that they are, thanks. You know, stuff people (excluding jaded expats with broomsticks up their arses who think they’ve seen it all) can relate to and get a quick chuckle out of before moving on with their day.

I’m not saying people don’t have the right to be indifferent, or even dislike my stuff. But coming on here, every week without missing a beat, just to leave a dumbass comment is just noise over signal. I hardly promote my strips, and don’t monetize them. Anthony contacted me, and I said why not. It’s free, uninvasive content, treat it as such (if I have to spell it out, for bag-o-dicks and the other moronshits: ignore if you don’t like)

1) get some1 to draw for you
2) think DEEPER about the expat situation and lay off the surface “i am a fat loser” “traffic waaaa!” stuff and get to the true reason behind “why the fuck are we here?”

I don’t enjoy it and I don’t see why I should. I’ve never called the guy names for it. It’s just completely unfunny to me, and that’s it. If you enjoyed it, good for you. I’m not going to mock your intelligence for it.
