Newsflash… Chinese throw garbage EVERYWHERE in the Forbidden City… I was there a few years ago and was horrified at that garbage thrown everywhere… FFS if the GuGong is not ‘important’ enough to treat with respect, then what is?!

I’ve lived in a few cities in China, all very nice, but for the reams of garbage absolutely everywhere … You see old people and young people alike just throwing garbage everywhere… after reading this post the one word that stood out was… “Civilized”?

The flip side of technological stimulation is boredom. The world doesn’t move fast enough for teenagers (it usually doesn’t). Perhaps nothing — not even breaking the law — feels as real without the instant reactions provided by social media.

Agree, this kid’s parents should pay up, give him a mighty wack on the bum, and he should live with the responsibility of what he done like any normal person.

On another note: The fuck is wrong with kids these days, back in my day (facebook was invented) we didn’t go around breaking the law AND facebooking about it. It still shocks me whenever someone is caught of rape, murder, extortion, or burglary because they thought it was a great idea to TWEET about it. The police should start giving delinquents a phone with facebook on it during interrogations.

Gross. This story has brought out the animalistic ugliness in both sides: rabid Mainlanders frothing at the mouth about their country’s collective loss of face and the smug circlejerking expats babbling about how uncouth the Chinese are when they travel abroad. Both are equally idiotic. Just blame the kid for being a schmuck and move on.
