If I put on my generalising hat, I would say lots of Chinese people seem able to put on a tunnel vision thing where they focus on where they’re going and don’t notice even the most interesting stuff going on in their immediate vicinity… although maybe it’s just that I notice because China’s always interesting to me.

Also old people are an exception. Old people see everything.
