They’re only pissed because no Chinese company has been able to develop a coffee brand with outlets like that. And China grows a lot of cheap good coffee in Yunnan. So much for Chinese entrepreneurialism. All they can do is ‘officially’ criticize Western brands that become successful. How dare they do that! Starbucks employs thousands of Chinese nationals and pays billions of Yuan in tax.

And anyway, the best coffee in China isn’t Starbucks. It’s in the traditional Portuguese coffee shops in Macau.

The real issue is why Starbucks in HK (even at the Lowu border) has amazingly delicious quiches and the outlets within China don’t! That makes me mad. Or why all the Starbucks in Asia HAVE NO PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES!?!?!? Go to hell Starbucks!
