Hi there. I can understand a few sides of this argument. In truth overpopulation of animals, especially large animals that are influencing the wildlife and disrupting the balance must be controlled. However. It should never get to the point of needing to take shovels to them. If it’s this bad the government there needs to take control of the owners. Requiring an implant or even a tattoo to be put on them in the least painful way possible in order for a family to own a dog seems reasonable. Enforcement of neutering and spaying and requiring special paper work and monitors for the unspayed and nuetered can help. At this point keeping the dongs isn’t easy. Unless they fix them all and send them to schools as guards and farms and other places so they are spread out. It is extremely cruel to kill an animal in this manner. If it was attacking and out of urgency and protection then ok but this is excessive. However I can understand the community may be at their witts end. We don’t know the full story here of why these dogs were so hated. As for the comments about illegal immigration… unless you are 100% native to the region you live in be cautious of calling others out for moving. I do agree that rules are necessary when going from one place to another. It shouldn’t be impossible but it should have a procedure so that everyone is getting the rights they should get and also the responsibility. Everyone seems to want to take an extreme side. Never kill animals and other calling for death of their own species. Fact is if everyone calmed down and had a normal discussion and learned to compromise and plan many solutions to the worlds problems would already be going. But so many exaggerate enjoy debating needlessly and fighting rather than actually fixing anything. Many want the world to follow their thoughts without ever lifting a finger and facing any issue head on. Or offering solutions to anything. People here applaud or condemn the people in this article, but no one here is going to fly over to try to fix the problem for them.

Agreed. I did a Google Image search for this breed and nearly every photo that popped up was of a Tibetan Mastiff baring its teeth ready to attack. They’re huge dogs. Forget these strays attacking adults, what if something this huge came charging at a child? Or an innocent pet? Anyone and anything attacked by one of these dogs would be helpless, and sure to die.

Sure, if it is not displaying aggressive behavior then it is most logical to capture and save it. But eventually nearly all dogs develop pack behaviors when stray long enough. Some of this pack behavior can be dangerous. After all, hunger can do a lot to an animal… and a human.

Okay, lets look at it from their perspective; what would you do if some unidentified large dog was roaming around in your neighborhood allegedly “causing havok?” Which can mean anything, from simply rummaging through trash, chasing people’s cats, or even attacking children. If that’s what the police receive in their reports, it’s their job to respond to that call to ensure public safety… for whatever reason their “causing havok.”

Under the same circumstances you would call the police too, or, if you’re the sensitive type of person, you would call Animal Control. Depending on who you call it can go one of two ways; either it gets shot dead by the police, or it gets taken to a shelter where it’ll eventually be euthanized if it poses a threat to people. But it doesn’t matter because in the end the dog dies anyway, that’s how it works in the Us. China just has a different way of doing it…

Yes, it’s sad that we as humans can’t learn to take responsibility for what we do, but the truth is we’re not so different from they are because human beings are animals too! Violence and savagery is a part of every one of us. As a species we are physiologically predators, that part of us is what links us to the beasts we live among on this planet. To put it simply, the images you see here are just one species of animal competing with another to reach the top of the food chain… Such is the way of Nature.

Animals do this to each other all the time in the wild; even as I’m writing this, there’s probably a pack of hyenas somewhere in Africa killing a lion cub that strayed too far from its Pride… and are literally ripping it apart! This is nothing new, it’s been happening for millions of years. Who are we to say what Mother Nature intends when we as a species don’t even know what’s best for ourselves?
