I wonder if people consider the feelings of the cartoonist at all before they comment. And would they be prepared to say such things to his face? I suspect that they would in this case, as cartoonists are generally a nerdy bunch, and Alastair, from the way he writes, strikes me as being a handsome, square-jawed young man. A big hit with the ladies too, I would imagine.

I predicted that this week’s offering would be a load of old cock-wash before reading the first panel. How dare this fellow, week after week, churn out such anaemic and witless bilge? I fell into wild paroxysms of laughter and jubilation after reading this. So raucous was my response that my coworkers collapsed to the floor and only after taking a moment to regain some composure were they able to crawl under their desks to cower and shake. The police were called and immediately opened fire on my person, believing me to be deranged and quite possibly dangerous. I was hit seventeen times in the torso and limbs and I now type this from the intensive care unit of a crumbling old hospital on zhongshan road. The only thing that keeps alight the fragile flame of life flickering in my breast is the knowledge that twice every month I will be privy to the kind of genius exhibited in Laowai Comics. Thank you LCG for all that you do.

Maybe it’s all that Baijiu I had with dinner…can’t believe I’m actually crossing over because I’m usually a big supporter of LC, but this one wasn’t that funny. Textbook joke physics: the set-up and pay-off was clear by panel two, there’s no reason to go four more panels with nothing developing. Just my constructive criticism…
