Following up on our post earlier today featuring a naked man riding a bicycle, here’s a naked woman walking down Culture Lane yesterday evening in Kunming, Yunnan province. Key of China Hush brings us this picture via ifeng. As Key reports: Netizens made fun, this foreign woman “expressed her bossiness”, “This world is too crazy, at least wear... Read more »
Michael Jackson impersonators abound in China (one of the more famous ones is Master Zhang Hongliang [video], often seen around the popular night districts in Beijing), but I haven't seen one quite this young. In Yibin, Sichuan province, seven-year-old Chen Zeyang attracted quite the crowd recently by dancing to Smooth Criminal. His five-year-old brother apparently loves MJ as well -- here are the two of them in action. The two reportedly practice while watching the King of Pop of pop on TV, and everything they do is self-learned. The Youku video description tells us Chen wants to be a professional impersonator or MJ dancer/choreographer when he grows up.
Was a note proving injury all that was required to get the world’s No. 1 badminton team of Yu Yang and Wang Xiaoli reinstated after their high-profile disqualification for match-fixing (and the DQs of three other teams)? I’ve emailed Thomas Lund, t.lund@bwfbadminton.org, and the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to find out, and will report back if... Read more »
The onomatopoeia “啪,” which is just “pa” (the sound for “bang” in Chinese), is interpreted by Google Translate as “black,” but noted as an interjection meaning “bounce.” 啪啪, meanwhile, is translated as “pops.” But then the real fun begins: 啪啪啪 is “lovemaking,” which makes total sense, if you think about it. A tourist in Qingdao nearly lost her life last Thursday when she crept a bit too close to the seashore to take pictures and ended up getting swept away by powerful waves. Very luckily for her, three migrant workers dove in after her when no one else dared to.
The dramatic rescue was caught on film by Liu Duo, who told a TV station (video embedded after the jump) that several people on shore saw the woman in trouble but no one thought they could beat the waves.
Lin Dan, the greatest men’s badminton player ever, via cfensi It’s Monday, but that’s no reason to despair. Soon it will no longer be Monday. Also, Usain Bolt is insanely fast. Links.
We've seen the consequences of drivers who confuse accelerators for brakes, which are sometimes awful, but never anything as jaw-dropping as this. In Ningbo, Zhejiang province on July 26, a red car plows into a woman and child riding an electric bike, and for whatever reason, the car doesn't stop until it hits a wall. The mother and child completely disappear underneath the car as those nearby are sent scampering.
