The source of this screen-grab will be revealed at the noon hour. The caption reads: “No wonder Air Jordan is black.” Come back at noon for the full story. Update: here it is.
Alicia wrote about a homemade Lamborghini last week, used to “deliver fertilizer.” Netizens have dubbed it the “most awesome sports car ever,” but we expressed a reasonable dose of skepticism as to whether it actually works, because after all — homemade Lamborghini. Our doubts have been laid to rest. While it’s uncertain whether it can... Read more »
Two landmark buildings in Chongqing Municipality's Chaotianmen are no more. On Thursday, a pair of 107.2-meter (352 feet) skyscrapers -- the Three Gorges Hotel and a passenger port -- became the highest in China to go kablooey. These 32-story structures released 63,000 cubic meters of debris in front of hundreds (thousands?) of eager onlookers.

In the early hours of Wednesday, a Mercedes Benz -- going quite fast, if I may say -- bumped the back of a sedan in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, causing both drivers to lose control. Four firefighting units on 12 fire trucks arrived at the scene, but because five cars successively burned, nearly everything in the store's first floor was turned to ash. There were differing levels of damage on the second and third floors as well.

On Sunday in Yantai, Shandong province's Golden Sands beach, a young man surnamed Ji swam a bit too far into the sea and went under. As Tencent Online tells it via 365jia (pictures from there), an Australian named Jason relaxing a few hundred meters away saw this and sprung to action.
In Taiyuan, Shanxi province on August 18, a 6-year-old boy called Wen Wen was playing in the parking lot outside his family’s fast-food restaurant when he was hit from behind by a minivan. But not hit, per se -- the van passed over him as he fell forward onto his knees and elbows and curled up into just the right size to avoid death. The vehicle continued to reverse...
