Here's something you only see in awesome TV shows. On Sunday, a man in a wheelchair in Tanghe County, Henan province blew himself up in front of a large shoe store, injuring nine people around him (no life-threatening injuries). Authorities are still investigating. The official write-up that was released to several news outlets is asking people to not listen to any rumors.
First and foremost, props to all the security personnel in this video, who not only didn't steal any of this drunk and belligerent man's money, but helped him pick it up and gave it back to him.
Now for what happened.
In Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, surveillance cameras recently caught this perfect storm of an accident involving a motorized three-wheel wagon and a bicyclist.
The man driving the three-wheel wagon swerves and loses control when the bicyclist cuts in front of his path. Neither saw the other coming due to another trike that was in the exact wrong spot in the intersection.
Want to be like the fellas above? The Global Times has launched a "Tongue Twister Contest for Foreigners," co-organized by Commercial Press and Chinese Universe. Those of foreign nationality are asked to submit videos of yourself saying Chinese tongue-twisters, which will then be judged from December 1 to 20. The top 20 will be selected for a "final vote," where "language experts" weigh in. The deadline to submit is November 30.
You'll have to pardon the first half-minute of this video; I'm not sure either why someone felt it necessary to play the accident back and again, back and again. But everything about this story, which happened in Ningbo last month and was recently publicized, gets better: four women who were passing by immediately went to the victim and tried to resuscitate him. We're not sure exactly what they did, but the video shows one of them pressing on his chest. The man survived.
If you thought Bo Xilai was expelled from the Communist Party of China in September, you’re only half right. (Okay, 99 percent right.) Today it was made official after a meeting of 500 top party officials in Beijing in what must have been the easiest decision they’ll make this month. Nothing now stands in the way... Read more »

A rare white lion cub was born in on Tuesday in China's Quanzhou Amusement Park in eastern Fujian Province. The cub's parents were both normal African lions with a yellow/brown coloring which makes the white lion even more unusual. Since it was the first time the female lion had given birth, keepers were worried about feeding problems so found a dog to nurse the lion cub along with her puppies.
A bus in Shanxi province, time unknown, flew off the road and into a ditch more than two meters deep, flipping at least once along the way, killing three of the 24 passengers, two of them instantly. Want to see what that looks like? Great! Look at the above video.
