China Digital Times brings us this rap video by Gao Yuan, featuring cosplay, martial arts, and English subtitles… and the line “Go censor your own motherfucker ass.” Via CDT:
Artist Gao Yuan has produced a video based on the song “Nunchaku” by Taiwanese singer Zhou Jielun (Jay Chou), rewriting the lyrics to curse government censorship. In the Chinese subtitles, he uses the word “hawthorn” (山楂， shanzha) as a euphemism and homonym for “censorship” (审查， shencha).
Does Ai Weiwei make a cameo? Of course he does.

I am thoroughly baffled as to how such a brilliant, angry cry of dissent – the Weiei caméo notwithstanding – gets only 5000 views on youtube ! It should have millions ! Any suggestions as to where (i.e. blogs, websites, forums..) I can promote this video ? I likes it so much and was so disgusted by its undeservedly bad performance that I really want to do something to get this fiery message a viewcount it deserves !
Any advice would be most appreciated.
