Female Driver, Refusing To Step Out Of Vehicle, Takes Officer On A 5-Kilometer Ride On Her Car Hood

We’ve all been pulled over before, and unless you’re a black man in Florida or CM Punk driving through Missouri, it probably went without incident. You accepted your ticket, or got let off with a warning after conspicuously flashing your boy scout card, and that was that.

On Monday, however, a woman in Dunhuang, Gansu province decided to turn a routine traffic stop into her Waterloo. Thanks to Dragon TV, we have the transcript of her interaction with a stern but not altogether rude police officer:

- Please get out.

- I’m not getting out.

- Please get out of the car.

…If you’ll please, get out of the car.

…Out of the car, please get out of the car.

- Such a small thing, what’s the problem?

- Please get out of the car.

- The thing is, if I get out, you’ll get on.

- Please get out of the car.

She did not step out of the car; she stepped on the accelerator. The cop rode on the front hood of the woman’s car for five kilometers. We’re not sure who captured the footage — probably the police — but the poor cop is seen shouting, “Please stop the car, please stop the car, quick.” Yes, he says please.

Meanwhile, the driver screams, “I’m scared, what are you guys doing?”

We imagine the driver and officer have a nice little talk before the woman finally pulls over.

The woman seemed sincerely contrite immediately afterwards, sobbing as she says, “I made much too big a mistake today. I don’t know what to do anymore.”

All this for making an illegal left turn. The case is still under review.

Not to be nit-picky, but I think the woman says “The thing is, if I get out, you’ll get in.” Maybe she was afraid that the cops would steal her car if she got out

This is very funny. Sorry I do not want to offend anyone, but it is a little funny. And then that police officer stayed on the car for the whole time. I feel sorry for the lady for whatever happened later on, that we cannot see from the video. Maybe more than a ticket?
