Talk about a publicity and soft power machine for China. On Saturday, June 22, a female panda named Haizi gave birth to twins at a conservation center in Wolong, and everyone is talking about it, from BBC to AP to CBS to the Telegraph, which reports:
“This is the first time a giant panda has given birth to twins, anywhere in the world, this year,” said conservation expert Liu Chunhua.
Haizi was also somewhat of a floozy:
State media said Haizi became pregnant after mating with Bai Yang and Yi Bao in March.
Who’s the babies’ father???
