UPDATE, 6/10, 1:25 pm: The rubber duck has left Victoria Harbor.
I don’t really have anything to add to Hong Wrong’s piece about the 16.5-meter duck in Victoria Harbor, “In Pictures: HK Goes Completely Insane For Big Yellow Duck’s Arrival,” or Shanghaiist’s guide to SCMP’s articles about these rubber ducks (with rolling updates), except to say this is awesome:
As is this:
Positively makes me quack:
And look at the flourish from Getty:
Not as cool, but whatever:
For the record, the duck is called Rubber Duck, by Dutch conceptual artist Florentijn Hofman, who calls it his “baby.”
That’s according to… SCMP, of course.
