Scantily-Clad Blond Advertises Money Giveaway In Nanjing, Marketers Everywhere Slap Foreheads

It’s been said that there are three B’s of marketing: be relevant, be social, be real time. In China, however, there’s another B that takes precedent: be blond.

In Nanjing yesterday, a weight-loss company sought to take full advantage of this fact, trotting out a blond model in tight leather pants and a revealing top in front of a downtown mall. She held a sign that read, “Boss has gone crazy, opening a new store, give you 10 dollars.” Store employees handed out vouchers that looked like Alexander Hamiltons, on which was a number that people could call to arrange a store pickup of $10 — “provided that you are fat,” according to China News.

A newscaster informs us that security guards broke up this promotional activity pretty quickly, and China News says some have called this stunt “boring” and “too much.” We think these people are just mad they’re not fat enough to collect their 10 bucks. (H/T Alicia)
