Rupert Murdoch Files For Divorce From Wendi Deng Murdoch

Rupert Murdoch and Wendi Deng Murdoch

Rupert Murdoch, 82, is reportedly divorcing his wife of 14 years, the 44-year-old Chinese-born American Wendi Deng Murdoch. (Did you know Wendi’s given Chinese name was “Cultural Revolution” [邓文革]? Thanks, Wikipedia!)

The News Corp chairman and CEO filed for divorce — his third — at New York State Supreme Court on Thursday. The couple has two daughters, Grace and Chloe.

Wendi Deng will probably forever be remembered by the world at large as the woman who stood up for her man against a pie-thrower at a British parliamentary hearing in July 2011. Here she is, immortalized in GIF form:

Wendi still has the figure and the looks, and more than enough vigor, probably. She’ll be okay.

Murdoch is… old. We’d like to say he’ll be okay, too, but let’s not kid ourselves.

Trading her in for an earlier modal. It never surprises that no matter how much your face looks like an ass, if you have enough money, you can get any women to sleep with you.

She failed to serve the purpose.

Adi Ignatius, the Editor in Chief of Harvard Business Review, wrote on his blog one week ago:

“Rupert Murdoch learned a similar lesson. When he tried to expand his
ventures in China around the same time, he performed multiple kowtows in full public view. As Jonathan Mirsky (no fan of Murdoch’s) wrote in the New York Review of Books, Murdoch tried to remove from his portfolio anything China didn’t like. He sold his Hong Kong paper, the South China Morning Post, which was often tough on Beijing. He dropped BBC from his satellite in the region after it
aired a documentary critical of Mao Zedong. And his book-publishing
company paid a huge advance to Deng Xiaoping’s daughter for her singularly uninteresting memoir. (For good measure, it also canceled plans to publish a book by the outspoken Patten.) All of this earned Murdoch very little. The media magnate eventually conceded he hit a “brick wall” in China and wrote off a huge chunk of change.”

She was supposed to help him succeed in China and she failed. Time to dump her.

True that. Guess he found out her “guanxi” was not as encompassing as he thought and banging any old Chinese girl wasn’t gonna cut it. What he should have done was marry one of Deng’s daughter’s!

The scary part is she is real Chinese hero. Ask a Chinese person on the street about her, and you will get a generally over the top positive response about her. Look at her! She fucked her way to the top!
