Pissing Laowai Escape Punishment, But Bus Driver Might Get Fined?

Pissing Danes in Shanghai who deserves punishment

Does this make any sense? Via Shanghai Daily:

The six Danes who got off from a bus on the middle of an elevated road to urinate in full view of the public are likely to be let off but the bus driver could face a 200 yuan fine.

Also, six demerit points. (A driver only has 12 to spare before he loses his license.)

So, why can’t the foreigners — Danes, reportedly — be punished for doing this on Saturday afternoon?

Police said it could not punish the Danes as there was no regulation against urinating on an elevated road.

That’s rich in its specificity. What if they took a leak on an off-ramp? Punishment then?

Of course, we all knew that no punishment would come. We’ve seen too much indecency — hell, much of it just down the road in Sanlitun during after-hours — to hold any misguided notion that civility can be enforced.

But the bus driver? The man who, after the incident, told TV reporters that the foreigners grabbed his steering wheel, causing him to “almost hit other cars”?

Police said yesterday that in times of emergencies, drivers should get off the elevated road from the nearest ramp.

Scapegoat, his name. What a pissing shame.

Let’s see the in-bus video footage of the foreigners grabbing the steering wheel.

What, the video has gone missing? Quelle zhenjing.

You know i thought it would be unlikely enough for them to be persecuted because pissing on roads isn’t exactly illegal depending on which part of China and two they are foreigners. Specifically Europeans. It’s why I didn’t bother crying racism.

This is a felony in China? Thank god!! Well then I guess everyone will stop horking and pissing and defecating in the streets now. Oh, it’s not a felony? Just parking your tourbus on the highway and blocking traffic? My bad.

I see so many Chinese gentlemen relieving themselves off the side of expressways here in Shanghai, I wonder if it has any relation to all that green tea they drink. I never go there, but perhaps it’s more civilized in the countryside?

I get it. Chinese police are relatively powerless against foreigners, so they “pass the buck” of punishment on to the bus driver. It’s pretty messed up, but what’s the alternative? I think people who misbehave shamelessly and publicly just because they can get away with it ought to be lashed, so I say shoot the Danes. But, maybe next time the gei si won’t let laowai onto his bus. Maybe there’s justice right there.

Maybe the Chinese want to suppress all close up photo evidence of Danish sausage so Chinese women don’t get aroused.
